Step 1 - Open the hard drive folder


Step 2 - Locate and open the "Assistants" folder


Step 3 - Locate and start the "Internet Setup Assistant


Step 4 - Now you will see picture of an iMac asking you if you would like to setup the Internet. Select YES.


Step 5 - You will now be asked if you have an internet account. Select YES.


Step 6 - Read this information and continue.


Step 7 - Name and Connection: Name this configuration PressEnter. Select Connect via Modem NOT Network.


Step 8 - Modem Settings: These should be automatically selected. Te settings should be:
1. Modem: iMac internal (this will vary with your computer)
2. Port: Internal Modem (this will vary with your computer)
3. Tone or Pulse: Most people set this to tone (as in touch-tone phone)
4. Ignor Dial Tone: Do not check this box


Step 8 - Configuration Information: You will be asked three questions:
1. What is the phone number for this configuration. Your computer call this number to connect to the internet? Enter in the PressEnter Dial-Up access number that is local to your city.
2. What name do you use with this service? This is your login name or user name given to you by PressEnter. If you name is Joe Smith, your login name might be jsmith.
3. What is you password? This is a series of numbers and letters similar to A1b3CD3f assigned to you by PressEnter.


Step 9 - PPP Connect Script: Select No


Step 10 - IP Address: Select No


Step 11 - Domain Name Server: You will be asked two questions:
1. What is the DNS Address for this configuration? Enter in 209.224.20.24, followed on the next line with 209.100.171.1
2. What is the Domain Name for this configuration? Enter in: pressenter.com


Step 12 - Email Address and Password:You will be asked three questions.
1. What is the email address for this configuration? Enter your email address (example: jsmith@pressenter.com)
2. What is the email password for this configuration? Enter in your password (See step 8, Item 3 above).
3. What is the quoting character you would like to use? Leave this setting as it is. Note in some versions of the Mac OS this question is ommitted.


Step 13 - Email Account and Host: You will be asked two questions:
1. What is the email account for this configuration? Enter in your account (example: jsmith@pop.pressenter.com)
2. What is the email host for this configuration? Enter in: smtp.pressenter.com



Step 14 - News Group Configuration: What is the group host for this configuration? Enter in: news.pressenter.com


Step 15 - Proxy Configuration: Do you use a proxy server for your Internet connection? Select No.


Conclusion: For this step, make sure you have a phone line connected to your iMac and then select Go Ahead and make changes. This will make all the necessary changes and connect you to the internet.
