  > New Richmond DSL Installation Instructions

Please Contact PressEnter! to get you DSL account activate.
(715) 246-7060

To Configure your SpeedStream DSL Modem

1). First, you need to install DSL filters on all of the equipment that uses the same line as your DSL. (This includes: phones, fax machines, Direct TV, Security systems, etc.)

2). Now locate the Network interface card (NIC) on the back of your PC, and plug one end of the network cable that was provided in the Modem Kit into the back of the PC. Connect the other end into the LAN port of the DSL Modem. Plug in the DSL line (phone cord) between the DSL port in the back of the modem, and your wall phone jack. There should not be a filter on this line. And lastly, plug the power adapter into the modem. Wait 2 minutes for the modem to boot up. Now reboot your PC.

3). Once your PC is up and ready to go, call PressEnter! To activate your account for DSL(715-246-7060). Once this has been done, open up a browser window (example: Internet Explorer) and click the stop button. Then enter this text: http://192.168.254.254 into the address bar and press enter.
You should see to a screen like this:

4). Enter a username and password for the admin account on the Modem. (Make sure you choose something that you will remember, and write it down.) After you enter the username, password and confirm the password, click on the button for "Require admin login to access entire web site", and click on "save settings".

5). Next click on Advanced Setup, (on the left pane of the page,) and click on Host, you will see a page that looks similar to this:

6). In Host Name, enter you PressEnter login name. (This is usually the first part of your email address.) Click on save settings, and it will then display a message that the modem needs to reboot. Click the reboot button and the modem will restart. (This will take approximately 45 seconds).

7). Click on the Login (on the left pane of the page.) And it will display a page similar to this.

8). In the username area, enter your PressEnter username. (Again this is usually the first part of your PressEnter email address). Next, enter your PressEnter password in the password area. Click on the "Show options" button, and this will bring up a page asking for a username and password for the Modem. (Enter whatever you used for the admin's username and password in Step 2). After you enter that, place a mark in the box labeled "Auto-Connect on Disconnect." This will allow your modem to automatically re-connect itself after power failures, or if your modem loses its connection. Verify "Save Settings on Connect" is checked.

9). Click on the "Connect" button and you should see a page that looks like this:

10). If the text underneath the "Point to Point Connection Summary" line is printed in green, you are connected and ready to use the Internet.
If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact PressEnter's technical support at (715) 246-7060.

Thank you, and enjoy your new, high-speed Internet service!
